Massacre Rocks - Day 1
| Massacre Rocks Class, July 24-25. Taught by Dan Brown. Amy and I stayed the night before in the campground and this page talks about the first day of our class. We met at the visitors center and talked a bit about the history of the park and talked about what we would be seeing. We were given the opportunity to handle a gopher snake and you can see that Amy really liked him\her. We went on a hike of the Po'Hogwe trail and learned about rocks and other things. See pictures below. It rained on us while hiking on this trail. After the hike, we went to Register Rock where travelers on the Oregon trail carved their names. We went on a tour of the area and looked at plants and other things there. |
