This morning I went to Franklin and bought 35 sticks of
drip edge and another trim bit for the router. I also went to Stars Ferry and ordered my shingles as well as bought 13 rolls of 15lb and 4 rolls of 30 lb felt paper. The shingles will be here no later than next Wednesday. Matt and I continued working on the patio cover. We got the cover finished and straightened out the fascia board all along the back and down the West side of the house. Tom Sayles came over to let me know he won't be done with the current shingle job until tomorrow which is no big deal considering we are not ready for him anyway. Oh, yea, as you can see in the pictures, we do need to put some OSB on the small gable, but we are putting an arch there in brick so we are going to put that on later. I also put 4x4 pressure treated posts under the beams to help support the weight of the patio cover as well. We then moved to the front of the house and got most of the OSB on the East side of the living room. We got it all trimmed to the fascia and then trimmed the OSB and plywood on both sides of the front of the garage. In the pictures, you can first see Matt posing for the camera. You can see dad up there as well. Oh, notice Matt pointing to the "This Sucks" on the roof. It does suck, especial today since it was 90 degrees. Your brain gets baked and after a while you simply cannot think and you end up working much slower. You can also see the Killdeer and her nest. The cat seems to enjoy sitting out by her nest and harassing her. At least until it gets hot then she comes inside and sleeps in the lawn chairs. She almost got beaned in the head with a board that fell off the roof when she was watching us. Matt yelled at her to move, but cats don't really do what you tell them... There are also pictures of the roofing supplies and the pipe for my well (only 80' is mine). Oh, my knee is in not to bad of shape, it hurt a bit, but I could still work if I did limp for a while. |
