This morning I went to Stars Ferry to get shingle samples.
We finally decided on one, and I will go in tomorrow to have to order them.
They are $5 more a square more expensive than going to R&S Supply, but I
will spent it here in town rather than out of town on this one. Matt and I started working on the patio cover and finished the West side except for one tiny piece we need to fish in from the underside. Amy, Steph and Catie came over to look at the house. Howdee if your reading this :) First injury of the house season... We started on the West side and as I was nailing a joist one of them whapped me in the knee which was no big deal until I looked at my knee and saw a piece of wood sticking out and my knee hurt. After looking, I had a huge sliver shoved in over an inch. I told dad to toss me the utility knife and took out a fresh razorblade to slice the skin to get it out, but it hurt worse slicing the skin so I bagged that idea. I got off the roof and had dad take me home to have mom try her surgical skills. Mom tried to pull it out with tweezers and after several attempts to get ahold of it failed. Finally got it and yanked. I didn't feel it come out, but it did. It was about an 1/8th of an inch in width , and well over an inch in length. The end was bent over so it was jammed in the skin pretty good. Mom has it at home. After "surgury" my knee hurt and I couldn't walk that great, then it started raining.. We got in the car and went down and got the tools out of the rain. I noticed the well drillers left their trailer full of pipe casing so they can start their work tomorrow. After that, we watched it rain and leak water all over, so I went to moms for dinner then home. Talked to Chuck and decided to go to Walmart and then Albertsons. At Albertsons, I was going to buy Lexie some olives and pickles for a surprise and couldn't find the olives so I called David and asked, he still remembered where they were. He had to laugh about it. I also called the brick guy, and his on schedule, and will be here in about 4-5 weeks which is about what we were hoping for. We also saw a wreck at Union Seed. Some pickup truck went head on into a railroad crossing sign. Nothing left of the front of the truck, and the sign was still standing. Pretty tough sign. Guy was getting loaded into an ambulance. Anway, that was my day... |
