| Wednesday after work I did a bunch of stuff, but can't remember most
of it. I do remember that I put a coat of water based finish on
the shelf, and also a coat of exterior grade finish on the mirror frame.
After that, I don't quite remember what I did. Yesterday, I sanded the shelf and the mirror frame down and put a second coat of finish on both. Then, I went and finished scraping the thinset off the floor of the entry way and vacuumed it all down. It is now ready to have the tile put back down. I also hosed down the front sidewalk. Then I came in and cleaned the house and took some pictures of the living room, family room and my bedroom and bathroom since I hadn't taken full pictures of the rooms for the most part. My computer wigged out a bit but I got it to respond. I ran a backup of the important stuff that had changed since the last backup so I didn't get any of the pictures posted. Today after work I cut some masonite for the mirror and took it all in the house. I hauled the mirror into the kitchen and laid it on the island and marked it so I could cut it down. I used my glass cutter and scored and snapped the piece off. I got the mirror test fit and put the masonite backing in and put the metal strips across the corners for more support and also put some more on the back to hold the masonite in. I then went into the bathroom and measured for the mounting hardware. After getting it all measured and put on the wall, I took down the lights above the sink and then went and put the brackets on the mirror. I took the mirror back out and hauled the frame in to make sure that it went onto the brackets before it was to heavy to figure out what was wrong if it didn't. Thinks worked well so I put the mirror back in and put all the straps back on. I called Matt and had him come help Chuck and I put it on the wall. We had a bit of trouble but got that taken care of really fast and the mirror was then hung. I then put the lights back up and put my towel bars on the wall that have been in the closet for, oh, about 5 months now :) I then cleaned up all the mess and took pictures of the bathroom which I will post tomorrow. Then mom and dad came over to see everything and then Matt n Kelly came over as well. Tomorrow I am going to hang up the shelf in the bathroom and build a table for my bedroom and then go to the end of the year faculty party. |
