I took today off work and got out to the house at about
7:30ish. The truss guy showed up about 8:00ish and brought the piece
to patch the broken truss, as well as the replacement truss that goes in
where the stairs are located. He also brought my truss hangers.
It took about half an hour to fix everything. After he left, Matt and I continued working on the pillar footers, and Kelly brought us breakfast. The concrete truck showed up at about 10:30 with a yard of concrete. We poured it, then ordered 2 yards for 1:30. Grandpa showed up around 11:00 and looked things over, then we headed for lunch. At this time it was raining pretty hard. While we waited for Kelly and the kids, grandpa and I ran into Franklin to get some straps for the pillars on the patio. We got back and decided that it was raining to hard to pour the pillars so we cancled the concrete. After lunch, we went back out and cut the stair jacks. It took two tries to get one that was right. After we had our template, Grandpa went back home. I cut out the other two jacks and then Dad and Matt showed up and we put them in where they needed to be. After we got them in, we went home since we were tired of dealing with the rain. Thanks for coming down Grandpa! |
