Yesterday was Mothers Day, so we didn't work.

Today sucked.

The wind was blowing HARD.  Probably close to 50+ mph.  The neighbors trampoline was blown across the road into the field about 1/4 mile away.  Later, it was gone.  We couldn't see it, who knows where it ended up.  Maybe Declo.

My house was still standing, but the East wall was beat to death and was nearly ready to be torn off if it gusted any harder.  We put the forklift in front of it to hold it up from the wind.  We braced everything as best we could.

We also picked up plywood and osb that had been flown off the piles and tossed all over the place.

After we got things secured, Matt and I decided to go to Twin to Home Depot to stock up on goods since there was no way to do any work.  We picked up $3500 worth of stuff from Electrical boxes, lights, chandeliers, wall sconces, house wrap, 5750 feet of electrical wire, 1000 feet of computer wire, 500 feet of tv cable and 1,000 feet of speaker cable, ridge vent, roofing nails and other stuff.

The wind blew like mad on our way down, and on the way back.  I figure we got 6-7 mpg on the way up with the truck bucking the wind.  Oh, the truck was jam packed, we didn't have room to put anything else we could have wanted.

While we were there, grandpa called and my trusses will be delivered on Friday.  They are also way more expensive.  My windows are on order, as well as my outside doors.  Expensive as well.

Tomorrow night after my night classes I will unpack the truck.
