This morning we build the inside double wall of the front
living room, tore the window apart in the master bedroom and fixed it so the
window will fit inside of the trusses. We also build the inside wall
for that as well. We put the OSB on the outside of both of these
walls. When the trusses get here, we will use a chain saw to cut the
faces so they are the triangular shape they should be. This way is
easier than stick building the entire thing like Matt did on his. We build the beam that separates the hall from the living room hall area so the main truss can sit on it. We build the wall\doorway separating the closets from the master bathroom as well. We cut a hole in the floor to the crawlspace so we could nail the wall down that separates the master bedroom from the living room. The cat jumped down, and then realized that it is rather hard to jump 4' up to get out... I also cut some studs out so we could move the bathtub into the master bedroom. Dan Vorwaller came over today to borrow 12 sheets of plywood for forms and said that he wouldn't be able to run the crane to fly the trusses, but someone else from work could. He also is going to bring us 3 flagpoles that are 40 feet tall. They are concrete light poles that were removed from a parking lot someplace. This should be sweet. Looking at flag prices, a 5x8 is $70, a 6x10 is $110 and a 8x12 is $171... Looks like a 5x8 is the right price, but a 8x12 would sure like nice... We quit working around 7pm and cleaned up. I moved lumber around to the side of the house so we can start working on the garage walls after we prep and pour the garage floor sometime next week. I also had Matt lift me 30' in the air on the forklift to get some good arial shots of the interior of the house. |
