Today after work I went to Franklin and got another piece of 1x12 mdf to remake the piece for the stairs.  I also bought some oak molding for under the oak stair piece and some oak for the face of the book shelves.

When I got to the house I cut the oak for the upper piece of the stairs and we started nailing everything on.  One of the nails split the tiny piece in picture PA1900130.JPG and broke it off so we had to glue it back on.

I put in some screws to hold the two joints in place and put plugs to cover them up.  I will need to get some more plugs and try and find some lighter colored ones for the lower piece since the dark plugs stand out to much..

We stained the spindles and the stair rail.

We build the shelves for the book shelves and primered one side.
