Today was General Conference so there was no church. I got to the house at 8:30 and started working on the closets. I discovered that all the upright rails were the wrong ones. They didn't have the slot to use the horizontal hanger rails so I decided to use them anyway just so I could get the closets done. I also discovered that all the fancy corner shelve pieces will not work either so they will have to go back. I also found that the 16" brackets won't work either... I also put the shelves in the pantry as well. Dad showed up after lunch time and we started cutting the Formica to rough size. We found that we had plenty except that I was right in the fact that I didn't order enough for the counter where the sink is. I had to splice it by the fridge (20 inch wide piece). We got them cut and started gluing them down. They all turned out nice and we were done with them all but the kitchen sink one. Matt showed up and it took all three of us to do that one. Amy and Stephanie came over and looked at the house. I then started routering the Formica and screwed up the first one. We found that the router rocked to much so we made a huge router base out of a piece of 1/2 inch particle board. Matt routered the rest and they turned out really nice. I think I can salvage the one I ruined by using an Ogee bit or a angle bit. |
