Dad then showed up and we started digging the area out that the driveway was going to occupy.  I went into CAL Ranch to get some hydraulic fluid and when I got back dad had quite a bit done but one of the hoses on the hoe had a hole in it so we had to just use the front bucket to continue digging. 

Shortly before noon the front wheel broke off again...  Second time this year it ripped the area where the lug nuts clear off.  Dad took it into town to get a new rim and I continued working on molding.

Dad got back and we went to lunch.

After lunch we continued working on the driveway.  We got the dirt all cleared out and while dad was moving dirt I put in the metal vent cover by the front door, dug out an area in front of the front door and front window to soak it down and shoved dirt into the area by the front garage window.

We then put in the forms on the left side of the driveway.  The driveway will be 40 feet long.  We will pour the East side first, then the West side another day.  Monday I will order a dumptruck load of pea gravel to put in the driveway to level things out, and for the patio when I form that up.

When it got dark, I went back inside and continued with the molding in the living room and some more in the hall.
