We got a ton of stuff done today. I slept in because I didn't get home from the movie till midnight. Saw the Bourn Supremecy. Anyway, I got to the house about 8:45 and Matt and I got a shopping list together. We went to Franklin and spent about a thousand bucks on mdf for window trim, some chair rail molding, and more backer board. They delivered it later in the morning. We then went to Ronco to see if they had some decent oak boards, but they didn't have any either. We started working in the master bedroom. We took the doors off and nailed the door stop on a bit more with small nails and Matt filled the holes. We then sprayed the frames with texture. We started painting the master bedroom. I rolled and Matt trimmed. I called Emily and she came over around 11:30. I sent her for pizza and then after lunch she helped roll paint. She did most of the master bathroom herself. I then got the bedroom done and helped her. The bedroom has two coats of paint, and the bathroom has two coats of paint. We then moved into the living room and got it covered with two coats of paint. We then went into the family room and it has a first coat along with the dining room and kitchen. Emily had to leave about this time. After that, we experimented with door trim. As you can see, we are going to make them pretty fancy with a keystone above them. It took about 45 minutes to get it figured out how to get it to work so it won't take a ton of time on the remaining doors. We then put up the chandelier in the living room and the spotlights. I also put in the dimmer switches for everything in the living room and entry way. I also put in the electronic timer switch for the outside front lights and programmed it to turn the lights on at 9:30 and off at 11:00. I then put up the sconces in the master bedroom (I spray painted them earlier in the day). I didn't have time to wire them in, so I just plugged a cord into its power feed to make sure they worked. After that, I took pictures and went home. I got home about 9:45. |
